Cycle/walk round some of the churches in our beautiful countryside. Money raised from sponsorship is split between the parish and the Friends of Essex Churches. For more information, please contact Diane Stratton
| | Sun | 12 | 2.00 pm | Parish Walk
following the success of the first Parish Walk we are planning to walk from St. Martin’s Church to St. Andrew’s, Greensted and beyond finishing up at the Rectory for a bring your own BBQ.
The 8 mile walk will start from St. Martin’s. After a short walk down the High Street we will turn left at the Budworth and follow the Essex Way to St. Andrew’s Greensted, one of the oldest Wooden Churches in the world. We then wend our way to the Green Man in Toot Hill where we will stop for a well-earned rest. (Remember to bring some money for a drink!)
We then return to Ongar via the site of the former Drill House Pub, Chipping Ongar Primary School and up past the allotments back to St. Martin’s.
Susan Cooper has kindly offered to open the Rectory Garden for a BBQ which will probably start around 6.30. Please bring your own food and refreshments.
